The end of term is often chance to stop and reflect back on what has been achieved over the last term or longer. Weeks of term are so busy that we often don’t realise how much goes on. We have had some lovely events happening in school this week, and to give you a flavour here are some of the highlights. From the PE Department, we have seen the Year 7, 9 & 10 girls netball teams all winning silverware. The school Dance Team competed for the second time this season and were placed in the top three! Congratulations to them all. Our Year 11 Duke of Edinburgh students all successfully completed their training Expedition. In school the Year 7 & 8 students were treated to a talk from visiting author Ellie McNicoll. Yesterday we saw the hard work of some students who were running stalls at the Easter Enterprise Market. Year 7 & 8 students visited Tring Parish Church to learn about the traditions of the festival of Easter. We wish everyone a very happy and restfully Easter break. Our Silver D of E students have all headed to the South Downs to get ready for their weekend training expedition, which needs to be undertaken in terrain that the students are unfamiliar with. The students stayed in a bunkhouse last night before starting their night expedition this afternoon. We hope the weather is kind to them and they have a great time. Our Facebook page

Such a memorable evening showcasing such musical talent at Dundale. Choir sounded amazing as always - and so many children involved. Solos, duets all brilliant. Piano, ukelele, guitar, drums not to mention Dundale's first rock band. So proud of each and every child tonight showing the confidence to perform to a large audience and with so much energy. Thank you to all the adults that helped make it possible - ex-pupils, parents and a special thank you to Mrs McKenna. Our Facebook page

We had a lovely week in Nursery last week! The children have loved our book, "Each Peach Pear Plum," we have had lots of discussion about characters, authors and illustrators, and play revolving around fairy stories. The children made a story map of the book, drew their favourite book characters to make puppets, and even enjoyed tasting delicious fruits! We all voted for our favourite fruits in Maths and made simple graphs to display the data. Photos available on our Facebook page

6GM had a great time at Wild Kites Forest School yesterday. The weather stayed dry for them to enjoy playing in their natural surroundings, making fires, building birds nests, and enjoying being outside. A huge thanks to Rebecca and Annabel over at Wild Kites for another brilliant session. Photos available on our Facebook page

Author Ellie McNicoll, will be visiting us in school next week to give a talk to our Year 7 & 8 students. Ellie will be talking about her latest book, Keedie which is available to purchase through ParentPay and Ellie will be signing copies of her book after the event. “As Keedie and her twin Nina approach their fourteenth birthday, they seem to only be growing further apart. Keedie instead feels drawn to, and fiercely protective of, their quiet younger sister Addie – who on the surface is the opposite of loud and fiery Keedie, but in fact they have more in common than anyone knows.” Our Facebook page

Mrs Watkins, our LRC Manager has been sent this wonderful book from Australia! She was contacted by the neighbour of the owner of the book, who wanted to return it to Tring School. The plate in the front of the book says it was awarded to Edward Cracknell for Arithmetic at Tring Boy’s School in 1914. We would love to hear from anyone who might be a relative of Edward, or who may have some information about him. Our Facebook page

Year 6 had a brilliant time over at Tring School, taking part in a serious of biology workshops this afternoon. They enjoyed learning about blood, using microscopes to analyse parts of blood, understanding what arteries and veins do and looking at how heart rate is affected by exercise. A big thank you to the Tring students who supportively lead each activity. It was a great opportunity for year 6 to experience the science labs at Tring and it linked well with our current topic: Animals including Humans. Our Facebook page
